Why are there more flounder on the east coast than there are on the west?

There are various kinds of flounder. Three different kinds are native to the Western Atlantic ocean. Only one kind of flounder is native to the Pacific ocean, and it is native to an area mostly off the coast of Japan. Thus, with three species calling it home, the east coast is much more flounderful than the west!
