Why are some trees such a bright color of green?

The pigment of a plant or tree is related to the wavelength of light that it is designed to absorb for photosynthesis. Occasionally, you will even notice that some plants have varying needs, and the green of the same plant will thus change to a brighter shade or a darker shade. Changes in weather can cause this, as overcast skies filter the light, and the needs of certain plants will change.
