I live on a lake, about 17 turtles are coming on the shore and appear to be eating something. I have never seen them do this before.
it’s hard to say without actually being there, but they could be eating worms (some have been known to do that), simply finding a good place to bask, or even looking for places to lay eggs. If it continues or more start to come out, there may be a problem with the water in the lake; I would recommend calling your local wildlife sanctuary or animal control, as they may be able to figure it out.
