Why are seals so effected by climate change?

The main reason seals are struggling with climate change is the melting of arctic and antarctic ice.  The melting ice is causing a decrease in the available algae, plankton, and krill, which are the food sources of the squid and fish that are the seals’ favorite food.  The squid and fish population falls due to the decreasing availability of their food, and in the same way, seal populations drop as a result.
