Why are sail fish so fast?

It probably has to do with their streamlined bodies and tail; their powerful, rigid tails are their means of locomotion and can propel them up to 68 miles per hour.  Additionally, sailfish fold their fins, which helps decrease water resistence.  But they are not the only fast marine creatures!  Dolphins, tuna, and marlin can reach immense speeds as well– up to 40 or 50 miles per hour.
