Why are pregnant and breastfeeding women advised to avoid passionflower?

    Passionflower is a uterine stimulant and can result in miscarriage during pregnancy.   The FDA has not tested passionflower.  That is why it is advised that breastfeeding women should avoid it as well.  It may not be bad, it is just that not all the effects of this herbal remedy are known.
