Why are plastic bags so bad for the environment?

    Plastic bags are bad for the environment because they take months to hundreds of years to breakdown. As they decompose, tiny toxic particles seep into soils, lakes, rivers and the oceans gradually destroying the areas they breakdown in. Plastic bags also float into the oceans where they choke, strangle and starve wildlife, affecting not only the land but marine creatures as well.

    Tons of resources go into the manufacture and transport of these items that are used for just minutes; then they go into the landfills and environment like stated above.

    They dont breakdown as good as other items.
