One reason is they typically they are more expensive, and that is def. problematic in this economy.
With the current economy being in such poor shape, people are trying to conserve their money. Organic foods are higher prices due to that they take longer to grow and are not produced at the rate GMO foods are.
Other than price there are some reasons why people do not buy organic. Some people believe that while organic produce does not use pesticides that soil that the organic produce grows in has been contaminated in the past with pesticides and that organic foods could contain those residues. When looking at organic foods compared to non organic foods it can be hard to tell a difference, and for some people not seeing a difference means they are not willing to pay for it.
