Why are owls dying?

The primarily reason is habitat loss. Logging industries and population expansion causes deforestation and the destruction of the owl’s homes. Of course, other factors may be in play as well. In the case of the spotted owl, for example, increasing forest fires, insects, and diseases plus competition with the barred owl for resources are all causing its population to decline.
