Why are our oceans so unhealthy?

  1. 0 Votes

Our oceans are unhealthy because of pollution and CO2 levels. Solid waste often drifts into the ocean and accumulates. This harms ecosystems by increasing levels toxic chemicals in the ocean. Increasing carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere means increasing absorbance in ocean waters. This has led to increasing acidity in ocean waters, which also results in ecosystem damage. More information is included below on ocean acidification due to carbon dioxide emissions.
