why are our cultivated Blackberries getting smaller we used to have big Blackberries

    It really depends — weather or soil conditions could have worsened, there may be overcrowding, some may be experience disease, or pests might be getting to them.

    There are probably still some large blackberries out there; blackberries vary in size.  Cultivated blackberries actually tend to be larger than wild berries.  In addition, there are different varieties of blackberries.  There are erect plants (that stand on their own) and trailing plants; some plants produce berries in the summer, and some produce berries later in the fall.  The region that the berries are grown in can also impact their size.
