Why are more and more people buying cars despite the economy’s situation?

    People in the US are actually buying less cars according to the Press Trust of India, with auto sales decreasing by nearly 20% in 2009. The Cash for Clunkers program attempted to bridge the gap between auto sales, carbon emissions and a rough economy, though results of the program cannot be measured adequately as of yet.
