Modular homes are more efficient because they are smaller and thus use less energy. These homes cost less and use less. Some newer models are fully sustainable with built in wastewater supplies, photovolataic lighting systems (saves 15% more energy), tri-fuel power supply, tankless energy efficient heating and cooling systems, and 100% recycled materials. In addition, the New Old Green Modular (NOGM) platform uses spray foam insulation, advanced framing, low-maintenance fiber cement siding, and no added formaldehyde free cabinets, floors, and trim. These are definitely energy as well as cost efficient.
