LEDs are tiny bulbs that produce light by moving electrons in a semiconductor. The result is a tiny bright light, and placing a bunch of these together can make for a bright, clear, energy efficient bulb. However, the shape of LEDs only allows them to point in one direction, making them a more direct form of lighting. Fluorescent bulbs (CFLs), like traditional incandescent bulbs, shed light in all directions, making them look brighter, but they have a less pleasant color than LEDs.
Well Aubrie, to answer your question, LEDs are far more efficient than CFLs, with their watt consumption much smaller than CFLs, as well as their increased lumen output and enhanced spectrum. Hope I helped, and have a green day!
