Why are Indian farmers using cellophanes to operate irrigation pumps?

  1. 0 Votes

Indian farmers are now using cell phones to turn on and off the irrigation pumps that irrigate their crops. They do this using a mobile modem attached to the starters of the pumps. This is important because it allows for the farmers to do this from distant locations instead of walking miles to do it by hand. It also allows for more efficient use of water for irrigation providing better drought resistance and more drinking water for Indian citizens.
