Why are fish evolving to be smaller?

Man has put an evolutionary pressure on fish to become smaller.  When man fishes, the largest meatiest, fish are taken out of the sea.  This leaves on the little fish to reproduce.  In many cases these smaller fish are smaller because of their genes.  By fishing out the biggest fish, man removes what would be the potential for big offspring based on genetics.

its quite interesting, but fish have evolved to be smaller because of humans. in the article below, it details that fish are smaller to escape through fishing nets humans use. this may not be evolution itself as there have been no noticed genetic shifts, but it is a form of change indeed.
