Why are fish different colors?

There are a few reasons for the different colors of fish. First, the pigment of the fish and the light reflection determines color. Second, adaptation determines color.  Over time survival has determined what a fish will look like. By being sandy colored a fish can better blend into the bottom of the ocean or by being able to change colors a fish can move in and out of different areas without being detected. Evolution then has determined the colors of fish. Lastly, health determines color. Healthy fish will have more and brighter colors than sick fish.
