Emissions are growing despite the financial crisis because nothing has been done to stop them. My guess is that one of the big reasons for emissions not being reduced is that the same number of people are eating and they’re all eating food that produced lots GHG emissions in its production.
Livestock emits carbon dioxide and methane, the production of fertilizer used to grow feed for livestock emits carboon dioxide. The list goes on.
