Why are eco friendly houses taking so long to catch on?

Eco friendly houses are taken so long to catch on because the initial investment can be expensive. The economy and the housing market in particular is in shambles so people do not really have the money to spend on making their house eco friendly. It’s cheaper to build a house to be more environmentally friendly rather than retro fit a house and home production is down drastically. The government will continue to provide green incentives and when the housing market recovers, more eco production will take place.
