Why are CFC’s so much worse than other pollutants?

    CFC’s are a catalytic agent in ozone destruction, meaning that they remove ozone (O3) from the atmosphere. This is what caused severe stratospheric ozone loss over Antarctica. It wasn’t discovered until the 1980’s though, long after it had been in use.
