Like almost anything in life, biofuels have both their advantages and their disadvantages. For example, biofuels can be refined from plants like soybeans and corn, allowing us to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. However, the drawback that comes with this is that it doesn’t reduce our dependency on oil, so much as providing an alternate source for our oil addiciton, one that might have to be supported by finding more farmland at the cost of forests. But like many things, they’ll probably act best as a stopgap as we wean ourselves off oil and onto renewable energy, as well as providing a renewable source for the creation of plastic polymers in the future.
I hope this helped!
