Why is all heavy machinery diesel powered?

    Diesel engines take a longer time to “heat up” to work at their full potential, but once the engine reaches that point, it can run at that high level for a great amount of time. Gasoline engines on the other hand, reach their full potential fairly quickly but could not last at high level for a great amount of time.
