    Alfred Wegener first theorized about continental drift and Pangea in 1915. Unfortunately for him, his ideas were not taken seriously due to the lack of evidence and inability to demonstrate the process. It was not until the 1950′s when more evidence was discovered, that his hypothesis was accepted.
