Although the United States was the first country to have an all smart-grid city, Europe wins the race with a high rate of smart grid development. We have a lot of people, for example in California, adopting smart grid technology but in Europe they have more people doing it and faster. The problem in the U.S. is that the technology lacks sufficient funding and so projects become delayed.
