Most Amazonian tribes fall under the jurisdiction of the governments of either Brazil or Venezuala. There are a number of NGOs, private organizations, and religious groups serving in the region as well. One of the largest of these is MATES–Movement in the Amazon for Tribal Sustenance and Economic Stability.
