Moose mothers are very protective of their young calves. In fact, there are many incidences of people being attacked by moose because of the mother’s protective instinct.
Not surprisingly, moose mothers protect moose calves. Baby moose stay with their mother for a year. During this time, they grow and become strong enough to survive on their own. They leave their mother when she is about to have another calf.
