John P. Holdren is Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). He holds advanced degrees from MIT in aerospace engineering and theoretical plasma physics. He has been called an “ideological environmentalist” as part of the presidents “Green Dream Team” which he heads up. Holden has been at the forefront of the green movement for years and has some popular and sometimes controversial theories about crude oil and natural resources.
