Wind power has been in use since antiquity, but the earliest plans for wind driven machinery on record is “Heron’s Windmill”, invented by Greek mathematician and inventor Heron of Alexandria, which was used to drive a pipe organ.

In modern times, the use of windmills as the generators of electrical power originated with Professor James Blyth, who unveiled his electricity generating windmill in 1887, which was the first instance of a windmill used to create electricity.

    I hope this helped!
