Who invented the first wind turbine?

    The first wind turbine, or windmill that was used to produce electricity, was built by Charles F. Brush in Cleveland in 1888.  Brush was an American inventor, entrepreneur and philanthropist from Ohio.  He built it to power his mansion, making his estate the first home with electicity in Cleveland.
