Who here is creating a Halloween costume out of recycled materials, and what are you using?

I’d love to hear your ideas and techniques.

There are so many ideas and techniques out there! This year I am going as a ninja, wearing black clothes I already own and making nunchucks out of paper towel rolls. It’s not much but it is something. Paper towel rolls can be used for a lot of things, including the nunchucks, or a staff for a wizard, a walking cane for a traveler, etc. Old boxes can be used to make robot costumes.

I did some research on what other people have done, and came up with a lot more. One of my favorite was a beheaded Marie Antoinette costume made out of an old mannequin and old fabric.

Here’s a crocodile made out of cardboard and brown packaging paper:

All of these pictures were taken from the link below in the citation section, so props to that site. Another great one on there was using an old umbrella to make bat wings. I hope some of these ideas help, and feel free to go through the ideas on the site below; they had about 26 great recycled costume ideas.
