It would probably have to be a candidate from the green party since the green party is based on principles promoting green practices and environmentalism. One of the politician running for California’s governor race from the green party is an activist Laura Wells.
Democratic candidate Jerry Brown seems to have a stronger background in supporting green policies than Republican caididate Meg Whitman. Brown supports the current hotly-discussed AB 32 law, which calls for a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2020. Whitman has expressed hestitations based on the state’s economy, and concerns that enacting such a law could affect its shaky economy.
