Graham Hancock is a British writer and journalist who has published a series of books with a main theme discussed in all of them in which he reveals a possible global connection with a “mother culture” from which he believes all ancient civilizations came from. He’s become known as an unconventional thinker who offers answers not in line with many current scholars on humanity’s history. With no formal training in archaeology and methods and conclusions not supported by many academics, his theories are criticized by many though. His international bestsellers include The Sign and The Seal, Fingerprint’s of the Gods, and Heaven’s Mirror, he has made television appearances and is a public lecturer as well on his subjects.
A Scottish writer/journalist who looks into ancient mysteries, myths and civilizations. His books have been best sellers, including The Sign and the Seal, Fingerprints of the Gods (said to be an inspiration for the new movie 2012), and Heaven’s Mirror. The first book listed was a quest for the Lost Ark of the Covenant. The recent Underworld: Flooded Kingdoms of the Ice Age looks underwater for the source of civilization. He is interested in civilization pre-Egypt, which he believes influenced the ancient cultures that built the pyramids and the Ark. He believes that the pyramids were built based on science that reflected the stars in Orion, for example. He also looks to ancient climate changes and astronomy to research natural disasters of the past and project future ones. Many people think he’s crazy.
His beliefs and studies are complex, but a good interview that lets him speak for himself is here: http://www.redicecreations.com/specialreports/2005/10oct/ghancock.html
