Who found the first black hole?

John Michell and Pierre LaPlace first theorized the existence of black holes with the use of Newton’s Laws in the 1970s. The first black hole was Cygnus x-1 which was discovered by the Uhuru satellite in 1971. It is not clear if this means that it was discovered by an automated system or a team of astronomers operating it. It was probably some combination of the two.
