Jay Westervelt, an American Endangered species biologist noted for his successful preservation efforts in New York is credited with the term. He’s also an avid professional snowboarder, often referred to as the “Father of American Snowboard Education.” He’s credited with coining several contemporary environmental terms, such as “greenwashing.” Greenwashing refers to “The practice of companies disingenuously spinning their products and policies as environmentally friendly,” hence “Going Green.”
