Babylonian astronomers in 1,800 B.C. are believed to have established the first zodiac calendar. Accorinding to the NASA website’s history of zodiac signs, it was the Babylonians who “first invented the 12 signs of zodiac, a birthday between about July 23 and August 22 meant being born under the constellation Leo.” The ancient Babylonians went on to influence the mathmatical astronimical developments made by the Greeks later on.
