The first person to have been recorded as using the term “global warming” was Wallace S. Broecker in 1975. He won the first edition of the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Awards in the Climate Change category with his article “Climate Change: Are We on the Brink of a Pronounced global Warming?” He was one of the first to predict that temperatures would rise as a result of human emitted CO2.
