There are some beaches where sand is artificially placed along the coast, but for the most part, it is monitored by geologists, all the while nature takes it course. With every wave crashing upon the rocks, as i learned in college, particles of the rock, are taken away, and over time, those pieces develop into sand. Therefore, with the nature course of waves pulling in and out dictated by gravity, the sand moves just as naturally as it is supposed to. Whether it is by wind, or water, the sand is where it is by natural reasons, but there is the exception of course.
