More than half of all shark attacks that have resulted in human fatalities over the last few centuries have come from just three kinds of sharks. Those three sharks are the great white shark, the tiger shark, and the bull shark. The great white shark is the most dangerous, because it is the largest and is responsible for more unprovoked attacks and deaths than the other two species combined.
Sorry, for some reason my answer to the question did not go through so here it is again.
Out of the hundred plus shark attacks yearly, about one-third to half of the attacks are made by the Great White Shark. These sharks are curious by nature and their attacks on humans are said to be “sample bites” by scientist. That is why most of their attacks are not fatal. At least this shows that humans are not a preferred entree on their menu.
The Great White Shark are obviously carnivores and they are the largest predatory creature on this Earth. Their average size is 15 to 20 feet long and they weigh 5,000 and more pounds. They are fast swimmers thanks to their tail which propels them to a speed of 15 miles per hour. They have 300 triangular teeth which is efficient in catching and tearing their preys.
The Great White not preferring humans as their meals, favor sea lions, seals, small toothed whales, sea turtles and carrion. The not only hunt in the water but can completely leave the water, breaching like whales, to catch their preys right off the coast.
These sharks are found in coastal, cool waters throughout the world.Unfortunately, the Great White is endangered due to overfishing and getting caught in net fishing.
