As of 2009, Wisconsin was the largest producer of cranberries. Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Washington are all right behind in Wisconsin!
Over 300 million pounds – that’s one hundred and fifty thousand tons! – of cranberries are produced in the U.S. each year. The state of Wisconsin produces more cranberries than any other state. Wisconsin has been the country’s leading cranberry producer for the past fifteen years! Massachusetts was the previous leader, and still produces around 30% of the nation’s cranberries – Wisconsin produces about 57% currently.
