All states have pretty strict laws, including what kind of gear they must have, where, when, and at what age they can kill a specific animal, and what happens if you break any of these laws, which generally involves incredibly hefty fines and forfeiting your gear. I couldn’t find any states that were more strict than others, but I did find a website for a lawyer in Alaska who specialized in defending hunters, which implies to me it’s a pretty common infraction up there.
