Millwright jobs are spread all throughout the United States but the state with the most employment is Michigan. As of May 2011, Michigan is home to about 3,210 millwrights. Runner-ups include Texas (3,070), Indiana (2,650), Ohio (2,290), and California (1,780). As far as average pay rates go Michigan and California pay the best out of those top five. Michigan boasts an average hourly wage of $27.90 and an average annual wage of $58,030. California averages at $26.16 and$54,410 respectively. Even though Alaska is not one of the top employers of millwrights, they average for the best pay in the U.S. at $31.66 per hour and $65,850 annually.
