    The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that as of Decemeber 2011, North Dakota, has the lowest unemployment rate at 3.3%, followed by Nebraska at 4.2%, then South Dakota at 4.2% of the population unemployed. The highest rates of unemployment are found in Nevada, with 12.6% unemployment, California with 11.1%, then Rhode Island with 10.8% of the population unemployed.
