    From my research, I was able to find a list of the top 10 states for LEED certified commercial and institutional green buildings per capita and they are as follows:

    1. District of Columbia w/ 25.15 square feet

    2. Nevada – 10.92 sf

    3. New Mexico – 6.35 sf

    4. New Hampshire – 4.49 sf

    5. Oregon – 4.07 sf

    6. South Carolina – 3.19 sf

    7. Washington – 3.16 sf

    8. Illinois – 3.09 sf

    9. Arkansas – 2.9 sf

    10. Colorado – 2.85 sf

    11. Minnesota – 2.77 sf

    AK, CA OR WA MT ID NE IA IL MI GA NC VA PA NY NH MA RI CT NJ DE

    Have the highest state wide codes.

     

    California’s 2011 Cal Green codes are the strongest  

     

    AZ CO WY ND SD KS OK MO IN MS AL ME have no state wide Energy Policy Code

     Colorado as a state lacks but cities like Boulder and a handful of others are as strong or close to California’s Cal Green.
