Which species of rabbit is the fastest?

The jackrabbit, which is a hare, not a rabbit, can reach speeds of up to 45mph, which is the fastest of all the hares and rabbits. The brush rabbit, native to the Oregon region, runs at 20-25 mph at top speed. The cottontail rabbit, which is the most common in the United States, has top speed of about 30mph, but only for short distances. I would guess that this is the fastest of the actual rabbits.
