The species currently under the most threat are in arctic climates, but the harlequin frog and the golden toad in Costa Rica have actually become extinct due directly to global warming. Polar bears, fish, seals and other sea life have born the brunt of global warming as a result of sea ice forming later in the season or not forming at all.
Global warming and climate change also are important for species’ habitats–a changing climate may alter living conditions for many species. Species may be forced out of their natural habitats or may be threatened if they remain in their shrinking habitats.
