    Brazil is the biggest producer of renewable energy in South America. The country is a leader in ethanol production, and hydroelectricity accounts for three-fourths of its energy production. Its wind-energy sector is the biggest in Latin America, accounting for 70 percent of the wind energy produced in the entire region.
