I don’t know about done the most, but Dr, James Hansen is a very famous environmental scientist who is best known for his testimony to Congress about climate change in the 1980’s. He has spread broad awareness concerning the climate change issue all over the globe. Dr. Hansen directs the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in NYC and is also an adjunct professor of Earth Sciences at Columbia University’s Earth Institute (The Huffington Post, 2011).
I think that scientists are more effective when they band together to produce change. That way, they can compare data and review each other’s work to make it more credible. One of the most influential scientific communities is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). They monitor the effects of global warming and propose solutions for it. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) relies on IPCC research for many of its decisions.
