Road-tripping. As a whole, I would say jet fuel is worse for the environment, but a plane will fly as scheduled no matter how many seats are booked on it. That means that driving instead of flying will increase the net amount of pollutants.
In general, it is more efficient from an emissions standpoint to fly than drive alone, but pack the vehicle up, and it may be more efficient. It depends on your vehicle, how full it is, how many people are on the plane, and how far you are going. It is also important to keep in mind how far you’d travel to the airport and whether you are flying non-stop or with many layovers (planes use more fuel per mile on shorter trips).
