Which part of the world is subject to the most mining?

That is a tough question to answer, since there is no way ascertain the exact number of mines which open and close on a daily basis. However, Africa as a continent has by far the majority of rare and precious metal mines (such as lithium and coaltan) as well as diamonds and several other rare gems.

For the record, Africa does not produce significant amounts of lithium. Zimbabwe is 8th in world production, with about 2% of the total for lithium. While there is plenty of other mining in Africa, China leads the world in production of about 34 different commodities, from coal and iron to gold and salt. “The most mining” is a subjective citierion, but likely China has the most.
