Nike definitely is the most environmentally friendly in general terms — they ranked 10th among the 500 largest US companies in Newsweek’s Green Rankings — but Puma makes the biggest deal about calculating their carbon footprint, and it follows that they may be the most accurate in calculating that. I don’t know about efficiency in carbon footprint calculations, but I don’t think that’s as useful a quality as, say, accuracy.
